Learning The ABCs of SEWP

One-on-one, in groups, at your site, by video or at the annual SEWP Conference, SEWP actively trains government buyers nationwide and worldwide.

The SEWP program team will go anywhere in the world literally to train customers on how to use SEWP.

In fact, this summer members of the SEWP team are traveling to Germany to train Defense IT buyers stationed there. The SEWP staff travels to about 75 sites annually to do onsite training according to Joanne Woytek, SEWP PM.

“We have a very strong training and outreach program,” Woytek told On The FrontLines in a recent video interview.

Woytek described how the SEWP training video—and the new version just launched—can be viewed by both government and private industry. The video provides all the essential information on the contract as well as the key ingredients to using it correctly.

“We also provide free onsite training to any government customer and those in private industry who are contract holder or a manufacturer who has products on the contract,” declared Woytek. “We will go out to any agency anywhere in the world. Most of our training is national, but we do go to Germany and Asia, wherever DOD, GSA and VA have sites.”

The in person training is a 2 hour training session where the customer gets trained on how to use the contracts. Additionally, the SEWP team uses this as an opportunity to find out how they can improve the training and the program itself.

Woytek said 4,500 people have been trained through video or onsite over the past two years.

Requests for free on-site training may be made either via e-mail (events@sewp.nasa.gov) or by contacting the SEWP Help Line (301-286-1478).

2011 SEWP Annual Conference

The 2011 SEWP Conference will be held in San Diego, California April 12-14 at the Westin Gaslamp Hotel. The Conference is tentatively scheduled for 8am-4pm on Tuesday (12th), 8am-4pm on Wednesday (13th) and from 8am to Noon on Thursday (14th).
